Why visit Vasse Felix?

Vasse Felix is the clearest starting point for understanding Margaret River wine history. The original vines were planted in 1967, and the estate’s modern identity still centres on the varieties that define the region: Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.

Best for: First-time visitors, wine history, art, fine dining and a polished all-round estate visit.

The experience

Visitors can choose a cellar-door tasting, guided experience, restaurant lunch or a slower visit to the Wine Lounge. The original underground cellar now forms The Vault, while the former winery houses changing exhibitions from the Janet Holmes à Court Collection.

What to taste

Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are the essential reference points. The wider range also includes Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc-led blends, with museum releases sometimes available through the Wine Lounge.

Planning your visit

Allow at least 90 minutes for a tasting and gallery visit, or make it a half-day stop when booking lunch. Restaurant reservations are recommended. Vasse Felix states that wine tasting, dining, art and tour experiences are available daily; confirm the current session before travelling.
